Stop, in the name of Art.

On a cloudy corner in Montreal, tall above the icy slush, unwavering in the cutting wind, a word made me stop.

Not the sign. The word. Though…the purpose was undoubtedly the sign.

Suddenly, it was so clear.

Words matter. Now more than ever.

What a wonderful titbit to post as a blog entry. Thank you for it. I love the way you mix images, short musing and essays on your blog Grace. Know that, whatever you post, I’m reading it. :-)

P.S. I’m singing ‘Stop in the Name of Love’ now. I blame you. Because it’s your fault. ;-)

Yet another great find, Grace :)
It took me a minute to understand that the original sign must have said “Arrêt”. Fun fact: French stop signs say “Stop”. Québec’s such a crazy place.

Reminds me of a Stop sign I seen in my area.

The added HST, so it read STOP HST.

It could be a bilingual work of art, since its the same word in both languages.

My cousin Arthur, at it again! The egotist. We thought a francophone boarding school would straighten him out, but non.
